Your wedding day hinges on one life-changing moment … the ceremony in which you join your hands in matrimony.

At Blackwell Grange, our 16th century Thatch Barn is licensed for civil ceremonies and all celebrations lead on from this, with a natural flow onto welcome drinks, dinner and dancing.

Originally constructed in 1543, the Thatch Barn is part of the Blackwell Grange landscape and breathes an air of heritage and sanctity. In 2016, we completely renovated the Thatch Barn, replacing the thatch and restoring the interior, while retaining wonderful features> such as the original barn doors and oak beams. Today, an open fire stands majestically at one end, facing you as you walk down the aisle. Contemporary lighting adds to the ambience, with floor uplighters, chandeliers and beam lights, each of which can be controlled independently to set the scene.

Should you wish to play music or accompany your ceremony with live music, the barn also boasts fabulous natural acoustics and an amplifier.

Up to 150 guests can be seated for your ceremony, with elegant chairs on the sandstone floor. While your guests will enter the Thatch Barn through the main double doors, we invite you to arrive through your own private entrance into The Servery over the glass top well. This ante room at the rear of the Thatch Barn offers a moment of serenity and calm. As well as being an area for you to gather with your wedding party before you walk down the aisle, it is one of the spaces in which you will meet the registrar earlier in the day.

You can also choose to tie the knot at the Arbor, an exceptionally picturesque setting located in the breathtaking gardens of Blackwell Grange. Positioned between a pair of chestnut trees opposite the Cider Lawn, this ornate structure adorned with climbing plants provides a place to exchange your vows al fresco with a backdrop of lush fields and rolling hills beyond.

To arrange your civil ceremony, please contact the registrar direct. Telephone Warwickshire Direct Registrations on 01926 413724 or email warwickro@warwickshire.gov.uk

While we are licensed for civil ceremonies, we would be delighted to host your wedding reception if you would rather a religious ceremony elsewhere. We are fortunate to be surrounded by eight picturesque churches within easy reach of Blackwell Grange, in the Parish of Tredington. We would be delighted to put you in touch with your chosen church.
