Blackwell Grange

A venue for all seasons, the gardens have much to offer during every month of the year. In the spring and summer, nothing could give your ceremony that feeling of country romance quite like exchanging your vows al fresco at The Arbor, with the enchanting Cotswold countryside stretching out in front of you. Once the ‘confetti moment’ has taken place on Apple Tree Lawn, outside The Thatch Barn, guests will be welcomed by the Artemis staff with your bespoke post-ceremony drinks on Cider Lawn or The Orchard Barn Terrace. If a wet weather option is needed, guests will be escorted into the main bar area of The Orchard Barn and if your hosts wish, the additional space of The Snug can be included. Enjoy a stroll down to the Chestnut Dell amongst the daffodils for photographs while your guests relax on the terrace. During your wedding breakfast, enjoy the views of the lantern-lit loggia and the large terrace, leading up the garden steps onto the Cider Lawn.

Beside the Orchard Barn, the enchanting Moon Gate leads through to the Walled Herb Garden, a landscaped area of gravel with a large terrace and circular lawn featuring olive trees and herbs. Here you will also find our pizza oven and grills, making the Walled Herb Garden an idyllic space in which to enjoy evening delights created by our expert on-site chefs, from wood-fired pizzas to theatrical street food.

A beautiful reclaimed red brick Herringbone path weaves its way around Blackwell Grange, linking these outdoor spaces. You will discover the Herringbone pattern throughout the venue, a sentimental reference to Didi’s Scottish heritage.

While Winter months might not lend themselves to drinks on the lawn and outdoor evening dining, the gardens will still delight. You can experience Blackwell Grange as the sun goes down: this outdoor wedding venue offers fabulous sunsets over countryside as far as the eye can see. A three storey gable wall of bespoke designed glass, probably the most complex and integral part of the entire design of this barn is the main backdrop of the Orchard Barn. This ensures the finest Cotswold views over the Cider Lawn and beyond to the Chestnut Dell are not missed, day or night, bringing the outside in. The outdoor lighting scheme evokes scenes from A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Didi’s inspiration in Shakespeare’s County “was to make Blackwell Grange twinkle and shimmer from dawn till dusk.”
